My girlfriend and I stayed for a weekend back in August (when lockdowns had been lifted across England) and we had a very enjoyable stay. Check-in was really quick and smooth, and the staff on the front desk were more than helpful with any queries we had.
The room itself was on the ground floor and was lovely. We booked a Deluxe King Room, which was enormous and much more spacious than expected (we did wonder if we’d been given a disabled room as we were on the ground floor and the room seemed to be much bigger than a normal room, with wide doorways etc). The bed was incredible, and one of the biggest I’ve slept in at a hotel in Britain. The ensuite was also great; shower was hot enough and powerful enough and everything was very clean.
The only negative I can think to write, which doesn’t lie solely as the fault of the hotel, was that the room was uncomfortably hot. We were lucky enough to come to Bournemouth on one of the hottest weekends of 2020, where temperatures were around 30 degrees. However, we were told at the front desk that there were no more fans available. Not great, however I can understand that everyone was clearly in the same predicament as us. We couldn’t sleep with the window or patio doors open as we were on the ground floor next to the cocktail/beer garden with no separation between this and our room. It’s probably not cost-effective to install air-con in the rooms, on the off chance we get a hot weekend in Britain which would warrant its use, however this would’ve helped massively.
Overall, a brilliant hotel in an even better location for exploring Bournemouth, and we’d have no qualms about returning this year whenever possible.
